Dutch design massief eiken (vergader)tafel The Original is ontworpen in 1998. Het was direct een groot succes in de consumenten markt. Niet alleen in Nederland maar ook in Belgie, Duitsland en Frankrijk. Enkele jaren later volgde de projectenmarkt en ontwikkelde de tafel zich tevens tot grote robuuste vergadertafel zonder 5e poot. De aanvankelijke naam was de "New-Id tafel". Door het enorme succes is de tafel veelvuldig nagemaakt en gekopieerd. Als reactie daar op is besloten de naam te wijzigen in "The Original". Er kan er namelijk maar één de echte zijn. Een Dutch design klassieker.
